Crispy Baked Panko Fish Strips

A healthier alternative to fried fish, these fish strips are coated in seasoned panko breadcrumbs and baked until perfectly golden brown and crispy.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb (250g) firm white fish, sliced into strips
  • 1 small egg, beaten
  • 1 cup (100g) panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • Pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with oregano, salt, and pepper. In a separate small bowl, beat the egg.
  3. Dip each fish strip first into the beaten egg, then coat it thoroughly with the crumb mixture.
  4. Place the coated fish strips on the prepared baking tray and drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and the strips are lightly golden brown and crispy.
