Savory Cheddar Waffles with Burrata and Prosciutto

A unique and delicious twist on waffles, this savory version is infused with cheddar cheese and topped with creamy burrata, salty prosciutto, and fresh tomatoes.

Ingredients

For the Cheesy Waffles:

  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 6 tbsp whole milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup (40g) shredded cheddar

For Assembly:

  • 1 ball of burrata cheese
  • 3 slices of prosciutto
  • 15 cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Fresh basil or oregano leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle maker. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Stir in the wet ingredients: egg, milk, and melted butter, mixing until just combined. Gently fold in the shredded cheddar.
  3. Cook the waffles according to your waffle maker's instructions until golden brown and crispy.
  4. To assemble, top each warm waffle with a piece of burrata, some halved cherry tomatoes, torn prosciutto, and a sprinkle of fresh herbs.
  5. Season with sea salt flakes and cracked black pepper to taste.
