Creamy Sausage and Gnocchi Skillet
A cozy and comforting one-skillet meal, this dish combines pillowy potato gnocchi with savory Italian sausage in a uniquely creamy butternut squash and thyme sauce.
Ingredients
- 6 oz (170g) Italian sausage, sliced
- 1/2 tbsp olive oil
- 5 oz (140g) potato gnocchi
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 1/4 cup (60ml) chicken broth
- 1/2 cup (120g) butternut squash puree
- 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the sausage slices for about 4-5 minutes.
- Add the uncooked gnocchi, heavy cream, and chicken broth to the skillet. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the butternut squash puree and minced garlic. Continue to cook for about 3 minutes until the gnocchi are tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in the thyme. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
