Easy Smoked Salmon 'Sushi' Rolls
Create elegant, rice-free sushi rolls at home using fresh salmon, creamy avocado, and crisp cucumber wrapped in a layer of cream cheese and coated in sesame seeds.
Ingredients
- 8 oz (225g) fresh or smoked salmon, thinly sliced
- 1 large cucumber, cut into thin strips
- 1 ripe avocado, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp white sesame seeds
For the Dipping Sauce (Optional):
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp honey
Instructions
- If making the dipping sauce, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey in a small bowl.
- On a plate, mix the black and white sesame seeds.
- Lay a slice of salmon on a clean surface. Spread it with a thin layer of cream cheese.
- Place a few cucumber strips and avocado slices along one edge of the salmon.
- Tightly roll up the salmon, starting from the filled edge.
- Gently roll the completed salmon roll in the sesame seeds to coat.
- Slice each roll into bite-sized pieces and serve with the dipping sauce.
