Easy Smoked Salmon 'Sushi' Rolls

Create elegant, rice-free sushi rolls at home using fresh salmon, creamy avocado, and crisp cucumber wrapped in a layer of cream cheese and coated in sesame seeds.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225g) fresh or smoked salmon, thinly sliced
  • 1 large cucumber, cut into thin strips
  • 1 ripe avocado, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp white sesame seeds

For the Dipping Sauce (Optional):

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey

Instructions

  1. If making the dipping sauce, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey in a small bowl.
  2. On a plate, mix the black and white sesame seeds.
  3. Lay a slice of salmon on a clean surface. Spread it with a thin layer of cream cheese.
  4. Place a few cucumber strips and avocado slices along one edge of the salmon.
  5. Tightly roll up the salmon, starting from the filled edge.
  6. Gently roll the completed salmon roll in the sesame seeds to coat.
  7. Slice each roll into bite-sized pieces and serve with the dipping sauce.
