Quick Homemade Teriyaki Chicken

Skip the takeout with this incredibly easy teriyaki chicken recipe. Diced chicken is cooked in a sweet and savory homemade sauce, perfect for a fast weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

For the Teriyaki Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger

For the Chicken:

  • 1/2 lb (225g) boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 1/2 tbsp cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl until well combined.
  2. Season the diced chicken with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat cooking oil in a sauté pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sauté, stirring occasionally, until cooked through (165°F / 75°C).
  4. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the cooked chicken and toss to coat. Continue cooking until the sauce simmers and thickens slightly.
  5. Serve immediately with rice and steamed broccoli.
