Quick Homemade Teriyaki Chicken
Skip the takeout with this incredibly easy teriyaki chicken recipe. Diced chicken is cooked in a sweet and savory homemade sauce, perfect for a fast weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
For the Teriyaki Sauce:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1/4 tsp sesame oil
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp ground ginger
For the Chicken:
- 1/2 lb (225g) boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 1/2 tbsp cooking oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl until well combined.
- Season the diced chicken with salt and pepper.
- Heat cooking oil in a sauté pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sauté, stirring occasionally, until cooked through (165°F / 75°C).
- Pour the teriyaki sauce over the cooked chicken and toss to coat. Continue cooking until the sauce simmers and thickens slightly.
- Serve immediately with rice and steamed broccoli.
