Decadent Chocolate Banana Bread
A rich and moist banana bread with a decadent chocolate twist, packed with cocoa, dark chocolate, and a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg for a truly irresistible treat.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp (130g) soft butter
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cups (160g) all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp (25g) cocoa powder
- 2 tsp (10g) baking powder
- 1 tbsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup (90g) chopped dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup (60g) goji berries (or other dried fruit)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bread loaf pan.
- Mash the bananas with a fork, then mix well with the soft butter and sugar.
- Add the remaining ingredients, including the dark chocolate and goji berries, and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, the bread is done.
- Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
