Decadent Chocolate Banana Bread

A rich and moist banana bread with a decadent chocolate twist, packed with cocoa, dark chocolate, and a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg for a truly irresistible treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp (130g) soft butter
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cups (160g) all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp (25g) cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp (10g) baking powder
  • 1 tbsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chopped dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup (60g) goji berries (or other dried fruit)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bread loaf pan.
  2. Mash the bananas with a fork, then mix well with the soft butter and sugar.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients, including the dark chocolate and goji berries, and mix until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, the bread is done.
  6. Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
